Recorded June- August 1996 at NRG Studios, North Hollywood, CA and The Sound Stage, Nashville, TN. This was their first reunion album with all four original members since 1968. It was an unintentional sequel to their HEADQUARTERS album, minus outside producers and songwriters. Most of the tracks were new. The Jones tracks were re-recordings of songs from his recent solo albums. "You & I" was a remake of a Dolenz Jones Boyce Hart track. "Circle Sky" is a remake of a song from their 1968 HEAD movie, with new lyrics.

Being a huge Monkees fan I was so excited when I heard that the four of them were back in the studio doing an album again When I heard it for the first time I was kind of disappointed I don't know if the music was over done or if they were trying to out do the past or what Why Circle Sky was done again I have no idea and it horrible Had Regional Girl been promoted they may have had a hit on their hands I've played it a couple of time trying to find something there but it just was something to add to the collection/No Neck
